What is different

  • Made in China instead of Canada.
  • Includes a free glow-in-the-dark tritium vial ($30 USD value) in the color you choose below, Green or Blue.
  • Covered by the same new 5-year warranty every Smith Blade now carries.
  • It carries the Hacksmith logo where the Canadian version has the maple leaf.
  • The inside signatures are laser-engraved rather than CNC engraved.
  • Its bit-retention spring is held in with screws rather than welded in place, so it can be swapped or replaced later, which the Canadian-made version cannot.
  • Not different: the M390 blade and the titanium are exactly the same materials, same spec, and tested to the same standard.

How to tell them apart

If you prefer to keep your original knife

Choose "No" below and your Canadian-made Smith Blade stays exactly as you ordered it. It is still subject to the US import tariff. If you have received a tariff invoice, it will remain open and your order stays on hold until it is paid. If you have not, you will receive one before your order is ready to be made. The Canadian line is in production now, and we are working to ship all remaining Canadian orders by the first part of 2027.
